A bag over a shoulder, a hoodie against white, two models on a sofa: this Venque shoot brought several kinds of product photograph into one studio session in Toronto. Alex and Lea modelled the collection, and we worked with both a clean catalogue background and a concrete-textured setting for lifestyle images.
The studio had natural light. In the photograph below, the sofa, plants and textured wall give the clothing a setting, while the neutral colours keep the scene relatively restrained.
A clean background for the catalogue
For the catalogue images, the white background removed most of the surrounding detail. The products and the way they were worn or carried could take more of the attention.
The frame below pairs a pale bag with black straps and light clothing. Those dark lines help define the bag within a largely light palette, while the model shows how it sits when carried over a shoulder.
Clothing within the same session
The shoot also included clothing. In the hoodie photograph below, the simple background leaves the garment’s shape, zip and small chest detail visible.
It is a different kind of product image from the wider sofa scene. One includes more of an environment; the other brings the view closer to a single item and the person wearing it.
The bag on its own
Another frame places the bag on the sofa without a model. The light upholstery sits close to the bag’s colour, while the black handles, straps and zip lines remain distinct.
Seeing the bag carried and then on its own gives the selection different views of the same product. For Venque’s current range, visit the brand’s official website.
Plan what each photograph needs to do
This session combined clothing, bags, modelled images and a product photographed on its own. Before a commercial shoot, it helps to decide which of those views your business needs and where the images will appear.
We can plan the backgrounds, models and image list around those uses. Explore my business and product photography or tell me about your project.
