Morocco Girl: My Feature in Art of Nude Magazine

Carved panels, patterned cushions and henna are part of the visual language of Morocco Girl, my series published in Art of Nude magazine. The issue shown here is February 2020, Issue 14, part 2.

Texture and form in the photographs

In the opening photograph of the feature, the model stands in front of a carved panel, with one hand lifted towards her neck. The pattern behind her and the henna on her body give the image layers of detail, while her pose remains easy to read against them.

The wider photographs bring more of the setting into the frame: cushions, plants, a mirror and a place to recline. The closer portraits let the body art and gestures take more of the attention. Those changes in framing give the published series its variety.

Henna and the team behind the series

The printed credits identify the people who worked on Morocco Girl:

  • Photography: Dmitry Bugaenko

  • Model: Maria Zaharova

  • Henna: Yulianna Reshetova

  • Makeup: Liudmila Elkina

The henna is an important part of these photographs. Its lines add detail that remains visible as the pose and viewpoint change, connecting the portraits across the feature.

The original magazine pages

The issue cover appears above. The gallery below contains the original spreads featuring my photographs, including the opening page with the title and team credits.

I have kept these pages intact as an archive of the publication. They show how the photographs were selected, grouped and presented in print.

Planning a fine art portrait

If you are interested in a portrait built around body art, texture or a particular lighting mood, we can discuss those elements before choosing a setting. We will also talk about your boundaries and how much you want to show in the photographs.
