Bringing a Medical Clinic to Life Through Photography

For this clinic branding shoot, I photographed three parts of the business: the space, the work and the team. The selection brings together interior and exterior views, scenes showing services and staff portraits.

Start with the space

I photographed both inside and outside the clinic. The modern interior and the exterior gave us different ways to introduce the setting, before moving into closer views of the work.

For a new branding session, those wider photographs can help establish where the business operates. We can plan which rooms, entrances and details need to appear, alongside the photographs of people.

Show the work in context

Another part of the session focused on services and the team at work. These photographs add a different kind of information from an empty room or a headshot: they show activity within the setting.

When planning a clinic shoot, we can agree which activities, people and details are appropriate to photograph. That gives the team a clear plan for the session. The images can show the work without making claims about treatment results.

Include the people behind the business

I also made staff portraits as part of the session. Alongside the photographs of the rooms and services, they give the clinic a set of images introducing the people who work there.

For a new shoot, we can discuss who needs an individual portrait and whether the brief also calls for a group photograph. The schedule needs to allow for staff availability and the work happening around the session.

Build a brief around useful photographs

This project combined location photographs, work-related scenes and staff portraits. Planning those groups together gives each part of the session a purpose and helps identify the images still needed.

Before your own branding shoot, list where the photographs will appear and what you need to show. A website introduction, a staff profile and an image explaining a service can call for different framing and preparation.
